France Goes Country Western

American movies, American music, McDonald's...what part of American culture
is next in line to be exported abroad?? Well, you may not believe it, I certainly did not,
but here it is..... LINE DANCING!

The Salle de Fête in Francescas, a very small town near by, hosted
a Western Dancing party for all the die-hard country-western lovers
of southwest France...which are many, much more than you might think.

Outfitted down to the T with jumbo(how fitting) American flags,
the red, white and blue completely overtook the modest party hall.

While the dancing wasn't exactly what we might think of as line dancing,
these determined dancers were hell-bent on not screwing up the steps...
thus the lack of smiles. And this goes for every single person in the room, no joke.

And don't worry, if you missed this event....there are more throughout the year,
with this single list taking us all the way through March!
Just to get an idea how serious line dancing is here....there were attendees
who came from as far away as 100 kilometers.

Does the table setting look slightly familiar?
Well done, well done.

  2. Looks like a blast, I would have loved to be there for that line dancing party in France. Maybe we can go to Tennessee when your back and line dance there with the fam. Can't wait to see you!

  3. E,

Wohlleber and I went line dancing at a bar once and I sympathize with the people in the posting as I also found that it required a lot of concentration to get it right. Was the "dj" American? He didn't look French at all.
